Ajmal Qureshi has worked at the intersection of the public and private sectors since 1972, when he was appointed deputy chief of Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission. He went on to serve as deputy secretary in charge of International Cooperation for the Ministry of Agriculture and later as Pakistan’s consul general in Istanbul, Turkey. He also served as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s representative (status of Ambassador) in China and Uganda. Qureshi holds a M.A. in economics from Boston University, and is a senior fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. Qureshi sits on the Board of the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. He was awarded the 2007 Most Distinguished Alumni Award by Boston University. He is a senior advisor and honorary professor at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
