Dae-Won Choi is currently chief of ICT Policy at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Previously, he served as special assistant to the executive secretary and secretary of the Commission of ESCAP. He also served at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) in Geneva, Switzerland, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. Prior to joining the UN, he worked as deputy representative of Korea Exchange Bank in the Sao Paulo office. He holds a LL.M. in international economic law from the University of Lausanne and a Ph.D. in development economics from the University of Sao Paulo.
